For starters, its shell is expertly crafted from tropical kapur wood and cross-laminated fiberglass for appreciable warmth and dryness. This makes it possible to get studio-usable tones without much muffling, if any. Sweetwater drummers were especially keen on the Hybrid Exotic Kapur Fiberglass's Spin-Tight tension screws, which fan out within the lugs to keep heads from losing their tension. We also have to hand it to Pearl for outfitting the Hybrid Exotic Kapur Fiberglass with SuperHoop IIs. This keeps its tone nice and open, versus die-cast hoops, which can mask the punch of the wood.

tension through playing. This is thanks to a special locking mechanism that expands within the lug. A special tuning key is included.
