A rare, one-of-a-kind gem

There is no other drumset in the world exactly like this one.
It includes a
beautiful, custom-designed riser
to support the extra 18x16 bass drum, which was painstakingly created from a floor tom (doing absolutely no damage to the original drum).
Every drum has a
perfectly functioning internal muffler
.
The drumset has some surface imperfections here and there on the wood and chrome, but this doesn't detract from the set's
overall obvious beauty
.
The shells are constructed from Sonor's classic
beechwood.
The shell interiors are uncovered beechwood, while the shell exteriors feature a veneer of
genuine rosewood
. This genuine rosewood veneer is extremely rare these days. Even the Sonor company itself no longer produces drums with genuine rosewood. The modern "rosewood" Sonor drums feature a fake rosewood look-alike.
I believe that the drumset is comprised of a few drums from around 1975 and a few drums from around 1977. The complete set matches and looks beautiful together. You can tell which drums are from which year by closely inspecting the lugs and badges. The drums from around 1975 have smaller mallets on the lugs, and the badges say "1875-1975." The drums from around 1977 have larger mallets on the lugs, and the badges say "since 1875." At least, that is my understanding. I do not claim to be an expert on Sonor history.

Please note: I have noticed that modern Evans drumheads do not seem to fit well on these drums. Remo is the brand for this vintage drumset. Just wanted to let you know.
