    Description

TUCKS - PATRIOTIC:  Crossed Flags, Eagle & Garland - EMBOSSED:  Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who have died in the course of carrying out their duties.  The holiday is observed on the last Monday of May. The holiday was observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970.  Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day to honor and mourn those who died while serving in the U.S. military. Many volunteers place an American flag on graves of military personnel in national cemeteries. Memorial Day is also considered the unofficial beginning of summer in the United States.   This Embossed Divided Back Era (1907-15) postcard is in good condition, but shows some edge wear.  Raphael Tuck.  Decoration Day Postcard Card No. 107.
