    Description

This is a very nice and poignant WWII KIA Air Medal to a B-24 pilot who served in the 12th Air Force with the 376th Bomb Group (H), 515th Bomb Squadron. As a 1st Lt., he piloted the B-24J named “Mary Ellen” and was shot down on November 11, 1944 during a bombing mission to Mezzocorona, Italy where the Adige River Bridge was the target. He was from Philadelphia County, PA.
Included is his officially government engraved Air Medal with medal case, ribbon bar, lapel pin, enclosure card, white cardboard box, and a copy of the Missing Air Crew Report (MACR). Note that a picture of his B-24 crew can be found on the 376th Bomb Group website. I do NOT have his other medals.
Overall, the items are in good, used condition. The medal shows some wear on the back of the planchet. Please see pictures to judge the condition of the items.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
